Updates and Developments!

Hello, friends and family of Modern Cotton!

I know we’ve been a little quiet since our launch. First of all, I just want to thank you all for your support. We’ve been getting a lot of great feedback from people who are wearing our tee! We love hearing all your favorite things about it. It’s our passion to set out and produce one of the best quality tees possible. We have been incredibly busy ironing out things on our back-end as well as developing new fabrics and styles for spring and summer. We want to bring the buttery soft amazingness that we were able to achieve with the Modern Cotton tee to our other products as well. We will be doing another batch of tees in our signature blend with some updated colors. These colors will be on the lighter pastel spectrum. Here is a sneak peek of what we’ve been working with.

Not only are we updating our colors. Men’s fashion has been making a shift towards a scooped hemline recently. So we are setting out to make that as an available option for people.

POLO Development

Another very cool development we have been taking is our take on a men's polo shirt. Our Polo will consist of the same fiber as our basic tee. Supima Cotton and MicroModal 50/50. But we are actually working with our facility on knitting a newer yarn style that is different from your standard ring spun yarn. The resulting yarn is called Ecosil, and has less torquing, pilling and overall better hand feel in the fabric. It’s a revolutionary style of yarn spinning and I am happy to be working with it! As for the overall design of the polo, we will be using a birdseye pique; which is very similar to the Lacoste style of polo. We will also be doing a thick in the same yarn that will fold over but still be very soft. You can see some video below of me at the flat knitting facility in Los Angeles recording some machines making flat rib.

warehouse finds

Last but not least, if you are someone who knows me, then you know that I am the type of person who is always diving into other peoples warehouses looking for a fabric that I can utilize because it's old stock or at least trying to draw inspiration from it. With spring around the corner, I've been looking into available stripes that I can mess around with. Here are some photos of some things that caught my eye. Let me know if any pique your interest! (get it?)
